10 Portland Square

Bristol

Background

This beautiful Georgian 5 storey property had been unloved for many years, during which time it had been a squat and then more recently an office building. But fortunately what remained was the original grandeur of the Georgian era, with cornicing, ceiling roses and even some of the beautiful marble fire places.

Outcome

My role was to strip away the rough edges and design 5 stunning 2 and 3 bedroom apartments that overlooked the only remaining Georgian squares in central Bristol. It took a light touch to restore and refine the spaces. Using light grey shaker kitchens with marble work tops, polished floors and ornately tiled bathrooms with period fixtures and fittings throughout, the space was transformed to show its former glory.

But the show stopper was the entrance hallway, using black and white chequered tiles, stunning chandeliers and wall lights, while keeping the walls a neutral white to create the most inviting entrance.
