Orchard House

Brislington, Bristol

Background

Once a very uninspiring 60’s office building, it had been neglected for many years. My role was to transform the 5 storey building, along with a completely new block, into 54 1 and 2 bedroom flats, to be sold using the Help to Buy scheme.

Outcome

The majority of the buyers would be first time buyers so my role was to create spaces that were modern, inviting, characterful but also affordable and space saving. Kitchens were modern high gloss in a granite colour, with pops of yellow metro tiles and dark painted feature walls.

The outside had to be equally well thought through in order to enhance the uninspiring office-like shell. Taking the yellow theme outside transformed the building, while the communal spaces were bright with blasts of colour interest. Bike storage, parking and landscaping completed this very modern development.
