This Georgian property had seen many different additions over various periods, but many of the original features remained. The purpose of the project was to respect the history but bring it into the 21st Century. The owner’s love of colour and pattern meant that a liberal use of wallpapers and tiles could be used. But actually the colour pallet for most of the rooms was very similar, so it allowed rooms to flow through the property.
The living room wallpaper in particular is a modern take on popular Georgian fashions, using bright colour palettes and silk-inspired florals. Downstairs all carpets were stripped to reveal original parquet flooring. Upstairs, long thin corridors were white-washed and the owners collection of artwork displayed, while bedrooms were brightened with wallpapers in similar pinks and greys. Modern splashes are added throughout, using blues and bright yellows.
